Lake Forest Blanks Millikin 3-0, Remains Unbeaten

The Forester men's soccer team, ranked seventh in the North Region (NSCAA) defeated Millikin University 3-0 at home on Wednesday. Lake Forest is now 9-0-1 on the season. Sophomore Mahir Mameledzija scored the first goal and assisted on the other two.

Mameledzija scored his team-high ninth goal of the year two minutes and three seconds into the second half. Senior Jerrold Rosema assisted on the score and then took a pass from Mameledzija and netted one of his own at 51:15. It was Rosema's fourth goal of the season.

Sophomore Nicholas Kliminski closed out the scoring with 10:05 to play in the contest. Mameledzija and junior Garrett Donnelly assisted on Kliminski's fifth goal of the year.

Lake Forest out-shot Millikin 8-2 in the first half and 10-5 in the second. The Foresters had 11 corner kick opportunities to four for the Big Blue.

Forester junior goalkeeper Giancarlo Colasanti had three saves in his third shutout of the season. He improved his goals against average on the year to 0.61.

Lake Forest will resume Midwest Conference play against visiting Monmouth College Saturday afternoon at 3:30. The game will be played on the field behind Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse (ice rink) and the Lake Forest College Sports & Recreation Center.
