Lake Forest Unable to Come Back Twice against Carroll

The Forester men's soccer team fell 2-1 to visiting Carroll University on Wednesday. Lake Forest's goal was the fifth of the season for freshman Mahir Mameledzija.

The Pioneers scored the only goal of the first half in the 33rd minute. The Foresters outshot the visitors 7-2 in the opening period but trailed 1-0 at halftime.

Mameledzija tied the score three-and-a-half minutes into the second half with junior Jerrold Rosema earning the assist.

Carroll, however, regained the lead less than two minutes later and the score remained 2-1 for the rest of the contest.

Lake Forest fell to 4-4-0 overall and 2-3-0 in Midwest Conference play this season. It was the first league game for the Pioneers, who are now 3-4-1 overall in 2010.

The Foresters will host Aurora University Saturday afternoon at 2:30.
