Foresters Defeat Wisconsin Lutheran 5-0 for Third Straight Shutout

The Lake Forest College men's soccer team recorded its third consecutive shutout on Tuesday (September 22), a 5-0 blanking of visiting Wisconsin Lutheran College. The Foresters raised their record to 3-4-0 while the Warriors fell to 2-5-1.

The only goal of the first half was scored by Lake Forest sophomore Nelson Dorvlo (St. Louis, Mo./University City) just 9:20 into the game.

Dorvlo netted his second score of the contest just 3:43 into the second half. His third goal of the season was assisted by junior Kahiye Hassan (Portland, Maine/Waynflete School). Sophomores Stephen Egan (York Harbor, Maine/Berwick Academy), Raul Ardelean (Arad, Romania/Col. Nat. "Moise Nicoara"), and Matt DeMaris (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) added insurance goals at 54:03, 70:00, and 75:00, respectively. They were the first career goals for each player. Freshman Garrett Donnelly (Newport, Vt./Stanstead College) recorded his first career point by assisting on Egan's score and fellow freshman Miles Kerr (Albuquerque, N.M./Sandia Preparatory School) did the same on Ardelean's. Sophomore Chris Haught-Thompson (Westchester, Ohio/Lakota East) also earned his team-high third assist of the year on Ardelean's goal.

Junior goalkeeper and reigning Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week Tom Biesiada (Grayslake, Ill./Grayslake Central) made three saves and held Wisconsin Lutheran scoreless for the game's first 75 minutes before giving way to sophomore Trevor Pontillo (Winthrop Harbor, Ill./Zion Benton), who finished the shutout effort.

Lake Forest will play again Wednesday night (September 23) at Benedictine University. The game will begin at 7:00.
