Freshman Conor Murphy of men's lacrosse was named the men's Forester Athlete of the Week on Tuesday after helping lead his team to their first Midwest Lacrosse Conference victory in program history.
The Foresters defeated Northland College 10-6 and held the Lumberjacks to only 14 shots on goal in the game.
Tasked with guarding the conference leader in goals per game and the reigning MLC Offensive Player of the Week, Murphy allowed only one to slip past him. He caused four turnovers and was credited with three ground balls during the contest.
Murphy leads the team in turnovers with 17 and is second in the team rankings for ground balls with 24.
Forester Athletes of the Week are voted for by the athletic department on Tuesdays.
