The Lake Forest College men's lacrosse team was defeated 19-10 at Benedictine University Tuesday night.

Forester freshman attacker Bode Rubright had his first collegiate hat trick by the end of the first quarter and freshman midfielder Chas Dean also scored in the period, which ended with the teams tied at four.

Benedictine took over in the second, netting four goals without allowing any, and the home team continued to pull away with four more unanswered tallies in the first eight minutes of the third.

Dean added his second goal of the game and ninth this season to end the Eagles' run. Fellow freshman midfielder Trip Gaston scored his 10th of the spring late in the period and the Forester trailed 16-6 going into the fourth.

The score was 18-6 when the visitors rattled off four straight goals, beginning with the first of the season for junior midfielder Bobby Ojascastro, one of the team's captains who was making his season debut. Sophomore attacker John Casey added his team-high 15th goal of 2022, Rubright took his season total to six with his fourth of the night, and freshman attacker Luke Bowers put the Foresters in double figures with his fifth of the year.

The loss dropped Lake Forest's record on the season to 2-4 while Benedictine improved to 4-3.

The Foresters will host Hope College Friday at 4:00 p.m. on Farwell Field.
