Foresters Begin New Era with Blanking of Beloit

Playing in the program's first game since 1994, the Lake Forest College men's lacrosse team hosted and defeated Beloit College 19-0 on Saturday.

Freshmen John Casey and Trip Gaston each accounted for six of the Foresters' goals. Casey had a hat trick by the end of the first quarter and both players scored four times before halftime. Casey added the first two goals of the third period and Gaston had one in the third and one in the fourth.

Fellow Forester freshmen Will Kerber and Luke Bowers each scored twice in the contest and additional tallies came from freshmen Adam Phillips, Conor Murphy, and Caden Elias.

Lake Forest led 6-0 at the end of the opening period and 14-0 at halftime. The home team added four scores in the third and one in the fourth.

The Foresters' next game is scheduled for next Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 against visiting Adrian College. It will be the team's first game on Mohr Field.
