The Lake Forest College men's hockey team was defeated 2-0 at Finlandia University Sunday afternoon.
The Foresters outshot the home team 36-15 in the game. Senior goaltender Nick Wiencek made 13 saves on the day and stopped 34 of 38 shots on goal in the weekend series.
Finlandia broke the scoreless tie at the 3:14 mark of the second period and added an empty net goal in the final minute to secure the victory.
The loss dropped Lake Forest's overall record to 4-6-2 and Northern Collegiate Hockey Association mark to 1-3-2. Finlandia is now 1-7-1 overall and 1-5-0 in the league.
The Foresters will not play again until the annual Border Battle with Concordia University Wisconsin January 6-7. The teams will face off at Concordia Wisconsin Friday night at 7:05 and in Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse the next day at 7:00 p.m.
