Less than 24 hours after posting a 3-1 victory at Trine University, the Forester men's hockey team fell by the same score in Saturday's series finale.

Lake Forest was the first to score on Saturday, taking the lead at 7:13 in the opening period on a goal by sophomore forward Ben Perkins. His ninth score of the season was set up by senior forward Josh Giacomin, who leads the team and ranks tied-for-fifth in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association with 18 assists.

A major penalty late in the first proved costly for the Foresters when the Thunder netted power play tallies at 1:19 and 1:49 in the second. The home team added an insurance goal with six minutes to play in the contest.

Trine outshot the visitors 36-19 in the contest.

Lake Forest is now 7-14-2 overall and 5-9-2 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play this season. Trine improved to 15-8-0 overall and 9-7-0 in the league.

The Foresters will close out the regular season against Marian University next weekend. The teams will face off in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, Friday at 4:00 p.m. and in Lake Forest's Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse Saturday night at 7:00.
