Lake Forest Falls to Nation's Seventh-Ranked Team

The Forester men's hockey team dropped a 4-1 decision to visiting St. Norbert College Monday evening.

The home team's only goal of the game came off the stick of senior forward Zach Leonard at the 2:49 mark of the third period and pulled Lake Forest to within a goal. Leonard's second score of the season was assisted by junior forward Ryan Kropp.

The Green Knights scored once in each of the first two periods and, after the Foresters' tally, netted insurance goals at 8:25 and 15:37 in the third.

St. Norbert put 13 shots on goal in each period while Lake Forest had 20 for the game.

The loss dropped the Foresters' overall record on the season to 6-10-1 and Northern Collegiate Hockey Association mark to 4-5-1. Ranked seventh in the nation, St. Norbert improved to 14-3-0 overall and 10-0-0 in the league.

Lake Forest will travel to Adrian College, the top-ranked team in the country, this weekend with games scheduled for Friday night at 7:00 (ET) and Saturday afternoon  at 3:00 (ET).
