The Forester men's hockey team prevailed 2-1 at Concordia University Wisconsin Saturday night to improve to 4-2-1 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play this season.

The game was knotted at one for the final five minutes of the second period and until the 18:15 mark of the third. Junior defenseman Scotty Nicholson broke the tie with his second goal of the year and first career game-winner. The Foresters called a timeout with 2:22 on the clock and the move paid off when senior forward Josh Giacomin's shot was saved but the rebound went to Nicholson, who fired a shot just inside the right post. Sophomore forward Ben Perkins was also credited with an assist on the play.

The game's other two goals occurred in the second period. Erik Nilsson, another Forester junior defenseman, gave the visitors the lead at 3:41 and was assisted by senior forward Max Cavallini and freshman forward Connor Tartaglione. It was the first career goal for Nilsson and the first point for Tartaglione.

The only power play goal of the contest came from Concordia Wisconsin at the 15:08 mark of the second. Lake Forest junior goaltender Nick Wiencek turned away each of the Falcons' other 36 shots on goal and improved to 5-3-0 with a .922 save percentage this season.

The Foresters racked up 55 shots in the contest, including 21 in the second period.

The victory raised Lake Forest's overall record to 6-7-1 while Concordia Wisconsin fell to 1-11-2 overall and 0-4-1 in the league.

The same two teams will face off again in Lake Forest's Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse Monday afternoon at 4:00.
