The Lake Forest College men's hockey team suffered a 4-0 New Year's Eve loss at Bethel University Friday night.
The Royals netted the game's first goal less than three minutes into the contest and then added three insurance scores in the second period, including one on the power play.
Shots on goal were fairly even on the evening with the Foresters edging out the home team 11-10 in the opening period and Bethel owning an 8-6 advantage in the second and an 8-7 edge in the third.
The non-conference loss dropped Lake Forest's overall record on the season to 5-6-1 while Bethel improved to 7-3-1.
The same two teams will face off again at the Bethel University Arena Saturday afternoon at 4:00. It will be the Foresters' first New Year's Day game in program history.
