The Lake Forest College men's hockey team erased a two-goal deficit and prevailed 4-3 at Milwaukee School of Engineering Saturday night.

After taking the lead at the 5:51 mark of the opening period on a score by sophomore forward Ben Perkins, the Forester surrendered the game's next three goals, the last a power play tally just 25 seconds into the third.

The comeback began with the conversion of a power play opportunity by Forester freshman forward Jared Gerger at the 3:29 mark. Freshman defenseman Hardy Wagner assisted on the goal for his first career point.

The Foresters tied the game at 12:42 on junior defenseman Scotty Nicholson's first career goal and took the lead 72 seconds later on another score by Gerger. What proved to be the game-winner was assisted by senior forward Josh Giacomin and freshman defenseman Connor Sullivan, who earned his first career point on the play.

Lake Forest was outshot 32-30 on the night but junior goaltender Nick Wiencek made 29 saves, including 11 in each of the final two periods. He improved to 2-1-0 with a .957 save percentage on the season.

The victory improved the Foresters' overall record to 3-1-1 and they are now 1-0-1 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play. MSOE fell to 1-1-2 overall and 0-1-1 in the league.

Lake Forest will take on Aurora University twice next weekend. The teams will face off Friday afternoon at 3:00 at Aurora and Saturday night at 7:00 in Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse.
