20 Foresters Named All American Scholars by AHCA

The American Hockey Coaches Association announced the 2020-21 Krampade All-American Scholars this week and 20 Foresters appeared on the list of Division II-III men.

To qualify, a student-athlete must have attained a 3.6 grade point average for each semester during the 2020-21 academic year. Krampade and the AHCA are honoring 721 men from NCAA Division II and Division III institutions in the fifth year of the award.

Lake Forest's Aaron O'Neill and Kyler Magus were among those being recognized for the fourth year in a row and Josh Giacomin has made the list following each of his first three seasons as a Forester. Two-time honorees from 2020-21 include seniors Boyd DeClemente, Mark DerManulian, and Nolan Carothers; juniors Cullen Kane and Zach Leonard; and sophomores David Cohen and Drew Shields, and sophomore Scotty Nicholson. Debuting on the list were senior Joey Sardina; juniors Max Cavallini and Will Lebel; sophomores Carson Poulin, Erik Nilsson, Nick Wiencek, and Vaughan Bamford; and freshmen Bailey Brant and Ben Perkins.

The 20 honorees are easily the Foresters' highest total in the five years of the award's existence. Lake Forest had 12 players make the list in each of the award's first two years and 13 each of the last two seasons.
