Tyler O'Neill Earns Senior Scholar-Athlete Award

Forester men's hockey player Tyler O'Neill was recently announced as the 2020 Lake Forest College Senior Scholar-Athlete Award winner.

The Scholar-Athlete Award is presented to an individual Forester in each graduating class who posts the highest grade point average over the previous three semesters (two semesters for freshmen). It was previously called the Letterman's Award.

O'Neill, who was also the honoree from his class as a sophomore and junior, completed his college education in December and finished with a perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point average. In addition to his accolades from the College, the economics major is a three-time member of the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association All-Academic Team.

Active on campus since he arrived as a freshman, O'Neill has served as President of the Lake Forest College Investment Club and Vice-President of the Financial Management Association for four years.

"Over the course of his time at Lake Forest College, Tyler has been a fantastic example of what we look for in a student-athlete," commented head men's hockey coach Patrick Kelliher. "He is someone willing to compete in the classroom and in his sport, someone who is engaged with his campus community, and someone who is always willing to lend a helping hand."

O'Neill will begin working for Goldman Sachs in Chicago this summer.
