A third period goal by sophomore forward Zach Leonard was not enough as the sixth-ranked Foresters fell 4-1 at Adrian College Friday night, ending the second-longest winning streak in program history at 11 games.

Leonard's third tally of the season made the score 3-1 with six-and-a-half minutes to play in the contest. He was assisted by senior forward Joey Sardina and freshman defenseman Scott Nicholson.

The Foresters went on the power play and pulled their goaltender with 2:01 remaining but the Bulldogs found the empty net just 26 seconds later to close out the scoring.

Adrian, which entered the week ranked 13th in the country, had a 41-23 advantage in shots on goal on the night and Lake Forest junior goaltender Boyd DiClemente matched his career-high with 37 saves.

The Foresters fell to 16-3-1 overall and 13-2-0 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play while Adrian improved 12-5-3 overall and 10-3-2 in the league, trimming Lake Forest's lead in the standings to four points.

The same two teams will face off again at Adrian Saturday afternoon at 3:05 (ET).
