After back-to-back two-goal games over the weekend, Lake Forest College hockey player Josh Giacomin was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday.
Giacomin accounted for half of the Foresters' goals in their series sweep at Trine University. The sophomore forward broke a 1-1 tie late in the opening period of Friday night's 4-2 victory and helped secure the win with an empty net score late in the contest. He also gave the visitors a 2-1 lead and tacked on an insurance goal late in Saturday's 4-1 triumph.
The four-goal weekend gave Giacomin five scores on the season and he now ranks third on the team with 13 points.
Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Giacomin was also named Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.
