Lake Forest College's Josh Giacomin was selected as the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Offensive Players of the Week on Tuesday after posting a pair of two-goal performances at Trine University last weekend.
Giacomin scored to break a 1-1 tie and give the Foresters the lead for good in both contests. The sophomore forward's first score of Friday night's 4-2 triumph came late in the opening period and he added an empty net goal in the final minute to clinch the victory. His first tally on Saturday occurred late in the second period and was his first official game-winner of the year. He also tacked on an insurance goal with five minutes remaining in the 4-1 win.
All five of Giacomin's goals this season have come in Lake Forest's last three games and he ranks third on the team with 13 points on the year.
NCHA Players of the Week are selected by the league's directors of media and information. Giacomin also earned the award once last season.
