Junior goaltender Boyd DiClemente stopped 30 of 31 shots on goal as Lake Forest prevailed 4-1 at Trine University on Saturday.

DiClemente made 14 saves while keeping the Thunder off the scoreboard in the opening period. Lake Forest took the lead at the 6:16 mark on senior forward Austin Aksoy's team-high-tying seventh score of the season and was still ahead 1-0 at the first intermission.

After Trine tied the game five minutes into the second stanza, the visitors regained the lead 10 minutes later when sophomore forward Josh Giacomin netted the first of his two goals in the contest. Sophomore forward Kyle Cote and freshman forward David Cohen assisted on what proved to be the official game-winner.

Leading 2-1 after two periods, the Foresters tacked on a pair of insurance goals in the third. The first came off the stick of freshman forward Drew Shields just 95 seconds into the period. His fourth score of the year was set up by senior defenseman Connor Duncan and junior forward Joey Sardina. Giacomin then closed out the scoring at the 15:07 mark with his fourth goal of the weekend. Sardina and junior defenseman Mark DerManulian picked up assists on the play.

Lake Forest out-shot the home team 10-5 in the final period but the Thunder had a 31-27 advantage in that category for the game.

The victory improved the Foresters overall record on the season to 11-2-1 and the nation's 13th-ranked team remained atop the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association standings with a mark of 8-1-0 in league play. Trine fell to 6-7-0 overall and 4-4-0 in the conference.

Lake Forest will host Finlandia University next weekend with face-offs scheduled for 7:00 Friday night and Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
