Senior defenseman Zach Feldman's goal late in the second period gave the visitors a 4-0 lead and Lake Forest held on for a 4-3 victory on Saturday at St. Norbert College, the third-ranked team in the nation.

Feldman's first score of the season was the Foresters' third power play goal in seven opportunities on the evening and was assisted by junior defenseman Mark DerManulian

Junior Aaron O'Neill started the scoring with a power play goal exactly two minutes into the contest. The team's points leader with six on the year was assisted by Feldman and freshman defenseman Scotty Nicholson. Both teams put 11 shots on goal in the opening period, which ended with Lake Forest ahead 1-0.

Forester freshman forward Jack Clark netted his first career goal at the 7:43 mark of the second period with senior forward Tyler O'Neill assisting. The visitors made it a 3-0 game at 17:18 when freshman forward David Cohen struck for a power play goal, his third of the year. He was assisted by a pair of seniors, forward Austin Aksoy and defenseman Connor Duncan. Lake Forest was out-shot 12-11 in the second stanza but led 4-0 with 20 minutes to play.

St. Norbert finally got on the scoreboard four minutes into the final period and added a second score three minutes later. Another tally with 3:44 to play made it a one-goal game but the rally ended there and the Foresters came away with their second victory on the opening weekend of Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play.

St. Norbert had a slight 32-30 edge in shots but Forester junior goaltender Boyd DiClemente made 29 saves to earn the victory.

Lake Forest, which also defeated the Green Knights 1-0 on Friday, is now 3-0-1 overall this season while St. Norbert fell to 1-3-0.

The Foresters will play their home opener against Milwaukee School of Engineering Wednesday night. The NCHA contest will start at 7:00 p.m.
