Sophomore defenseman Mark DerManulian's power play goal in the second period gave the Foresters a 2-0 lead but they eventually fell 3-2 to visiting Babson College on Sunday.

DerManulian's second score of the season was assisted by sophomore forward Joe Sardina at the 5:44 mark of the second period. Sardina extended his point streak to nine games while DerManulian has at least one goal or assist in eight of those contests.

The Foresters had taken the lead at 14:28 in the opening period on the sixth goal of the year by sophomore Aaron O'Neill. The power play score was assisted by senior forwards Cody Guidorzi and Bron Loiselle, whose crisp passes set up O'Neill in front of the goal and he blasted the puck past the Beaver goaltender.

Babson began the comeback with a score at the 11:41 mark of the second period shortly after the home team killed a major penalty.

Trailing 2-1 going into the final stanza, the visitors converted a power play opportunity at 4:09 and took the lead with just 1:27 to play in the contest. They had a 12-6 edge in shots on goal in the final 20 minutes after entering the period with just 17 attempts in the game to the Foresters' 27.

Lake Forest fell to 5-5-3 on the season while Babson improved to 10-3-1.

The Foresters will resume Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play on the road next weekend. They will play at St. Norbert College Friday evening at 5:00 and at Finlandia University the following afternoon at 4:00 (ET).
