Eight Foresters Score in Victory at Lawrence

Senior forward Bron Loiselle scored one of Lake Forest's goals and assisted on three others in the team's 8-1 triumph at Lawrence University on Saturday.

Loiselle and sophomore forward Aaron O'Neill assisted senior Cody Guidorzi on the game's first goal just 37 seconds into the contest. It was Guidorzki's second score of the season. The visitors doubled their lead with a power play goal by O'Neill at the 10:42 mark with Loiselle and senior defenseman Ryan Kruss assisting. O'Neill also has two goals on the year. Lake Forest outshot the Vikings 15-9 in the opening period and led 2-0 at the first intermission.

After scoring his first goal of the season on Friday, junior defenseman Zach Feldman struck again with a power play score at the 8:04 mark of Saturday's second period. Sophomore defenseman Mark DerManulian and junior forward Austin Aksoy assisted on the play. After Lawrence got on the scoreboard 44 seconds later, Forester freshman forward Cullen Kane restored the visitors' three-goal advantage. Sophomore forwards Troy Nelson and Joe Sardina set up Kane's first collegiate goal. Loiselle converted a power play opportunity for his first score of the year at the 18:05 mark with assists credited to Kruss and junior defenseman Connor Duncan. The Vikings had a slight 12-11 edge in shots on goal in the period but Lake Forest entered the third ahead 5-1.

The final 20 minutes of the game featured three more Forester goals amid a dozen minor penalties and one 10-minute misconduct. An unassisted score by Sardina at the 2:59 mark was his second of the season and he joined Nelson in assisting on Duncan's first of 2018-19 at 6:42. Lake Forest's fourth power play score of the night came from Kruss at 14:14. His second score of the year was assisted by Duncan and Loiselle. Lawrence once again had the edge in shots on goal (12-10) in the period but continued to lose ground in the scoring column.

Lake Forest senior goaltender George Argiropoulos stopped 32 of 33 shots on goal to earn the victory in his season debut.

The Foresters improved to 1-3-2 overall and 1-2-1 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play while Lawrence fell to 0-4-0, both overall and in the league.

Lake Forest will be of next weekend ahead of a non-conference series at home against Saint Mary's University November 23-24.
