The Forester men's hockey team was defeated 9-0 Saturday afternoon at Adrian College, the top-ranked team in the country.

Lake Forest was making the program's first appearance in the semifinals of the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Harris Cup Playoffs since 2014 but was denied a first-ever trip to the final.

The Bulldogs scored three goals, including two on the power play, and had a 12-8 advantage in shots on target in the opening period. Both teams recorded 10 shots in the second but Adrian accounted for both of the goals in the period. The Foresters were outshot 14-4 and surrendered four more scores in the final 20 minutes of the contest.

At 15-11-2, this year's Foresters matched the ninth-highest victory total in team history. Adrian improved to 24-4-0 on the season and will host St. Norbert College, the second-ranked team in the nation, in next weekend's NCHA Harris Cup final.

Saturday's contest was the final career game for Forester seniors Davis DeKorte, Charlie Izaguirre, George Gerasimou, Billy Kent, and Shawn Nelson.
