Senior forward Billy Kent scored the first goal in his last home game Friday night as the Forester men's hockey team hosted and defeated Aurora University 4-0.

Kent's sixth score of the season came on the power play at the 8:28 mark of the second period and was assisted by fellow senior forward Charlie Izaguirre and freshman defenseman Mark Dermanulian. It turned out to be Kent's seventh career game-winning goal.

The home team doubled its lead with 3:04 remaining in the period on the third goal this year from junior defenseman Ryan Kruss, who put home the rebound of a shot by freshman forward Aaron O'Neill. Junior forward Cody Guidorzi also assisted on the score.

Guidorzi and O'Neill each added another assist with 46.2 seconds on the clock on the first of two goals in the game by junior forward Bron Loiselle

Loiselle lit the lamp for the second time on the night and seventh this season just 72 seconds into the third. He was assisted by Kruss and junior defenseman Quinton Wunder, who earned his first point of the year.

After being outshot 15-7 in the opening period, Lake Forest had an 18-3 advantage in shots on goal in the second and a 13-9 edge in the third.

Forester junior goaltender Louis-Philippe De Courcy kept the Spartans off the scoreboard for his program record-tying fourth shutout of the season. He improved to 10-7-1 with a 1.98 goals against average and .931 save percentage in 2017-18.

Lake Forest improved to 13-10-1 overall and 10-6-1 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play while Aurora fell to 5-15-4 overall and 4-12-1 in the league. The teams will face off again in the regular season finale at Aurora Saturday night at 7:00.
