Lake Forest Falls in Third at Concordia Wisconsin

Sophomore defenseman Zach Feldman's first goal of the season was not enough as the Forester men's hockey team was defeated 5-2 at Concordia University Wisconsin Saturday night.

Feldman's unassisted score at the 4:55 mark of the second period was also the first goal of the contest, despite the visitors' four power play opportunities in the game's first 20 minutes.

The Falcons went on the power play for the first time on the night at 11:37 in the second and converted the opportunity 92 seconds later to tie the score.

After out-shooting Concordia Wisconsin 16-8 in the first period and 10-9 in the second, the Foresters allowed 13 shots while taking nine in the final stanza. The home team took the lead at the 3:58 mark and added to it at 8:20. Forester senior forward Bron Loiselle connected for an unassisted goal, his fifth tally of the year, at 10:43 but the Falcons regained the two-goal cushion at 12:47 mark and tacked on an empty netter with 2:07 remaining to close out the scoring.

Lake Forest is now 11-9-1 overall this season and 8-5-1 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play. Concordia Wisconsin improved to 13-6-2 overall and climbed over the Foresters and into second place in the NCHA South Division standings at 9-5-0 in the league.

The Foresters will play a pair of conference games at home next weekend. They After hosting Adrian College Friday afternoon at 4:00, they will entertain Trine University Saturday night at 7:00.
