Despite out-shooting the Beavers 34-27, the Forester men's hockey team fell 4-1 at Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts, Saturday night.

Freshman forward Joey Sardina had the lone goal for Lake Forest, his third in as many games, late in the third period.

Both teams reached double figures in shots on goal in a back-and-forth opening period. Babson slammed home a rebound at 15:47 and headed into the first intermission with a 1-0 lead.

Scoring chances came heavily for both teams in the second, but Babson netted the only goal of the period with 3:44 on the clock. The home team had a 2-0 lead and a 21-17 advantage in shots on goal with 20 minutes to play in the contest.

Lake Forest outshot the Beavers 13-4 during the first 16 minutes of the final period but was still kept off the scoreboard. The visitors pulled their goalie and put two more shots on goal before Sardina finally snapped off a wrister from the high slot which beat the goaltender low glove. Sophomore forward Austin Aksoy assisted on the score.

The Foresters pulled their goaltender again with 1:04 to play but were less successful than in their first span with an extra attacker. Babson was able to block a shot at the blue line in their defensive zone and send it the length of the ice for a 3-1 lead at 19:11. The Beavers would tack on another empty net goal just four seconds later to close out the scoring.

Lake Forest fell to 7-5-0 overall on the season while Babson improved to 7-4-1.

The Foresters they will have one more crack at earning a victory on their East Coast trip when they face off at Curry College in Milton, Massachusetts, at 1:50 Sunday afternoon.
