Sophomore defenseman Reed Scahill scored his second career goal in the Foresters' 6-3 win over Saint Mary's University Friday night in Winona, Minnesota.

The scoring started with 2:58 left in the first period when senior forward Davis DeKorte dropped to a knee and snapped one past the goaltender's glove. With similar goals in back to back games DeKorte said, "the last two goals have been a product of my teammates hard work down low and puck finding me in the high slot. I was able to find the quiet area and as the puck came out the goalie dropped down. Each time I was able to place it in the top right corner."

The Cardinals answered two minutes later with a goal of their own to even the score heading into the first intermission.

Saint Mary's would get the first tally of the second period on a power play goal at 1:48.

Lake Forest tied the game on a power pay goal at 6:43. Senior forward Charlie Izaguirre received a beautiful cross crease pass from fellow senior forward George Gerasimou and scored for the second time this season. The assist extended Gerasimou's point streak to four games. Sophomore forward Austin Aksoy also picked up an assist on the goal.

Junior forward John Nugent netted his second score of the season less than minutes later to give the Foresters the lead. Assists went to senior forward Billy Kent and junior defenseman Quinton Wunder.

With time winding down in the second period it was Scahill who threw a rocket from the point that found the back of the net for his first goal of the year. Not known for goal scoring, when asked about the goal Scahill laughed, "the puck squirted off the stick of Aaron O'Neill. I saw I had a forward pushing out on me and I was just trying not to hit his shin pads." Junior forwards Bron Loiselle and Cody Guidrozi earned assists on the goal that gave Lake Forest a 4-2 lead heading into the final period.

At 11:35 in the third period junior forward Vito Aluia put the moves on the goalie and went upstairs with his backhand shot on the breakaway. Billy Kent recorded his second assist of the night on Aluia's second goal of the season.

After surrendering a power play goal at 17:38, Guidrozi sealed the deal on the victory 39 seconds later with an empty netter, his third score of the year.

With the victory Lake Forest improved its record to 6-2-0 and will be back in action at Saint Mary's tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. Looking for back-to-back sweeps Kent said, "I think we got better as the game went on tonight, but we know we have a lot more to give out there. As a team we expect a full 60 minutes out everyone night in and night out."
