Sophomore forward Austin Aksoy potted his first career goal in the Foresters' 7-1 victory over Aurora University Saturday night at Johnny's IceHouse West in Chicago.

Lake Forest went into the locker room at the first intermission with a 1-0 lead thanks to senior forward George Gerasimou's third goal of the season. Aksoy and senior forward Davis DeKorte assisted on the play. The Foresters out-shot the Spartans 15-7 in the opening period.

Freshman forward Joey Sardina blitzed by an Aurora defender and scored at the 4:48 mark of the second period. "I kind of got lucky in the neutral zone as their defender turned the puck over. I worked my way into the zone, cut right in front of the goalie, and saw the puck go in the back of the net," said Sardina.

Dekorte followed with his second goal of the season at 9:12 with Aksoy and Gerasimou assisting.

Lake Forest added to its 3-1 lead at the 1:01 mark of the third period. Gerasimou and Kent set up Aksoy, who deked the goaltender for the power play score. "Billy had the puck on the wall and he drew the defenseman to him and he got me the puck in front of the goalie. I put a couple moves on him and scored," said Aksoy.

Sardina, senior forward Charlie Izaguirre, and Kent added goals in the final period as the Foresters set a season-high with seven scores.

The line of Aksoy, Dekorte, and Gerasimou gelled all night. Aksoy finished the night with a goal and 3 assists, Dekorte with a goal and an assist, and Gerasmiou with a goal and two assists.

Several alumni came out, which was very beneficial, and we thank them for their support."
