Freshman forward Aaron O'Neill scored the Lake Forest College men's hockey team's first goal of the season in a 4-2 triumph over the University of Wisconsin-Superior at home Friday night.

O'Neill gave the Foresters a 1-0 lead at the 17:25 mark of the opening period. Freshman defenseman Mark DerManulian also earned his first career point with one assist on the score and junior forward Cody Guidorzi had the other.

The first period ended with the home team still ahead by one and Lake Forest had a 12-6 edge in shots on goal after 20 minutes of play.

Superior tied the game on a power play goal at the 2:13 mark of the second period. Lake Forest, however, regained the advantage at 6:41 when junior forward Bron Loiselle blasted a shot past the Yellowjacket goaltender's left shoulder and into the net. Guidorzi earned his second assist of the night and sophomore defenseman Zach Feldman also set up the Loiselle score. The Foresters struck again with 4:54 to play in the period on the first career goal by freshman forward Joe Sardina.

Lake Forest was out-shot 9-7 in the second stanza but still held a 3-1 lead when it was over.

The Yellowjackets pulled back within one early in the third period. The home team had four power lay opportunities in the period and scored again at 14:05, shortly after the third one ended. The unassisted goal came from junior forward Drew Cleereman.

The home team had a 17-8 advantage in shots in the final period and finished the game with 36 shots on goal to Superior's 23.
