Lake Forest College men's hockey play Leo Podolsky was named Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday. He helped lead the Foresters to a home-and-home sweep of Lawrence University over the weekend.
Podolsky, a sophomore goaltender, made 31 saves in Friday night's 7-0 victory in Appleton, Wisconsin. It was his second shutout of the season.
The Foresters came from behind to win 3-2 in overtime at home Saturday night and Podolsky finished the contest with 20 saves.
Podolsky stopped 51 of 53 shots on goal (96.2%) on the weekend and improved to 10-1-1 with a 2.20 goals against average and save percentage of .921 on the season.
