Foresters Fall 2-1 at St. Mary's for the Second Straight Day

The Lake Forest College men's hockey team was defeated 2-1 at St. Mary's University on Saturday after falling by the same score Friday night. Forester junior forward Jason McAloon started the scoring just 1:46 into the contest.

McAloon's third goal of the season was assisted by junior forward Mcauley Banning. It was the visitors' second shot on goal of the contest and the St. Mary's goaltender stopped the next 29.

The home team tied the game just 30 seconds after McAloon's goal and the score remained 1-1 for 40 minutes. The Cardinals netted what turned out to be the game-winner at the 2:33 mark of the final period.

After being out-shot 10-5 in the first period, Lake Forest had a 15-7 advantage in shots on goal in the second and an 11-9 edge in the third.

The Foresters fell to 5-4-0 on the season while St. Mary's evened its record at 5-5-0.

Lake Forest will resume Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play next weekend at the College of St. Scholastica. The teams will face off Friday night at 7:00 and again at 4:00 Saturday afternoon.
