Lake Forest College men's hockey player Ben Certo was named Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday for his performance in the Foresters' sweep of visiting Finlandia University over the weekend.
Certo, a junior defenseman, assisted on the team's second and third goals in Friday night's 3-2 victory. He also helped limit the Lions to just 20 shots on goal in the contest.
Lake Forest prevailed 3-1 on Saturday and Certo netted the official game-winning goal while on the power play early in the third period. He also assisted on an insurace goal later in the period.
Certo is now tied for third on the team with four assists on the season and tied for fifth with five points.
