Foresters Drop Series Finale to Nation's Second-ranked Team

The Lake Forest College men's hockey team was unable to avoid a home-and-home series sweep by St. Norbert College, the nation's second-ranked team. Forester freshman forward Justin Pelock scored his first career goal in Saturday's 4-1 loss at home.

Pelock's goal occurred with 13:33 to play in the contest and was the final score of the game. He was assisted by sophomore forward Ian Pichel.

St. Norbert took the early lead with a goal just 36 seconds into the game and added a pair of scores just 28 seconds apart late in the opening period.

After a scoreless second period, the Green Knights added to their lead with a power play goal just 22 seconds into the third.

Lake Forest was out-shot 10-7 in the game's first 20 minutes but had a 10-6 advantage in shots on goal in the second and a 9-8 edge in the third.

The loss drops the Foresters to 3-2-0 overall and 2-2-0 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play. St. Norbert remained undefeated with a 6-0-0 mark, both overall and in the league.

Lake Forest will host Finlandia University next weekend and face off against the Lions at 7:00 Friday night and again Saturday afternoon at 2:00.
