Foresters No Longer Undefeated after Falling at Nation's Second-Ranked Team

The Lake Forest College men's hockey team was defeated 9-1 at St. Norbert College, the second-ranked team in the country, Friday night. The Foresters are now 3-1-0 on the season.

St. Norbert started the scoring with a pair of goal in the game's first five minutes.

Junior forward Bobby Barrett scored the only goal of the night for the Foresters at the 10:03 mark of the first period. Senior forward Mike Violette assisted Barrett, who leads the team with a career-high five goals on the year.

The Green Knights scored two more goals in the opening period and led 4-1 after 20 minutes of play. They added a power play goal in the second period and four scores, including two more while on the power play, in the third.

The home team had a 37-17 edge in shots on goal on the night, despite the Foresters putting 10 on target to the Knights' nine in the first period.

Lake Forest is now 2-1-0 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play. St. Norbert raised its overall and league record to 5-0-0.

The same two teams will face off in Lake Forest Saturday night at 7:00.
