Foresters Unable to Hold Off Concordia Wisconsin

The Lake Forest College men's hockey team was defeated 2-0 at Concordia University Wisconsin Friday night in a game that was scoreless until the final 5-plus minutes of the contest.

The home team finally broke the scoreless tie on a power play goal at the 14:56 mark of the final period. The Falcons added an empty net goal with less than a minute left to account for the final score.

Lake Forest freshman goaltender Leo Podolsky was nearly perfect, stopping 24 of the 25 shots on goal he faced in the contest. He is now 1-1-0 with a .939 save percentage on the season.

The visiting Foresters had a 15-12 advantage in shots on goal in the final period and a 28-26 edge in the game.

Lake Forest fell to 1-3-0 overall and 1-2-0 in Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association play. Concordia Wisconsin is now 3-3-0 overall and 3-2-0 in the league.

The same two teams will face off in Lake Forest tomorrow night at 7:00.
