Lake Forest Unable to Avoid Sweep at Nation's 12th-Ranked Team

The Forester men's hockey team was defeated 6-1 at Milwaukee School of Engineering, the 12th-ranked team in the nation, Saturday night. Freshman Bobby Barrett scored for Lake Forest in the second period.

Barrett's second score of the season came on the power play at 11:40 in the second period. Fellow freshmen Jason McAloon and Mcauley Banning assisted on the goal, which made the score 4-1.

M.S.O.E. started the scoring with a power play goal at 4:26 in the first period. The home team added what turned out to be the official game-winner at 16:51 and led 2-0 after the opening period.

Raider goals at 1:57 and 10:17 in the second preceded Barrett's score and they added a power play score at 16:24 to take a 5-1 lead into the second intermission.

The final tally came at 14:02 in the third.

Lake Forest fell to 3-20-0 overall and 3-15-0 in Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association play. Milwaukee School of Engineering raised its overall record to 17-5-1 and league mark to 14-3-1.

The Foresters will close out the regular season with a home-and-home series with Lawrence University next weekend. The teams will play in Lake Forest Friday night at 7:00 and in Appleton, Wisconsin, at the same time on Saturday. The Foresters will celebrate Senior Night and Parents Night on Friday.
