Eastern Trip Begins with Loss at Nation's 8th-Ranked Team

The Forester men's hockey team was defeated 3-0 at Amherst College, the #8 team in the country, on Friday. Lake Forest's trip will continue with a contest at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, Monday afternoon at 2:00 (EST).

Both teams put nine shots on goal in the opening period and 10 in the second. Amherst had an 11-7 advantage in the third. The Lord Jeffs converted a power play opportunity at the 4:51 mark of the first period and added a pair of scores in the second.

Forester freshman goaltender Taylor D'Agostino made his collegiate debut late in the second period and held the home team scoreless for the game's final 24:25.

Lake Forest fell to 1-10-0 on the season while Amherst raised its record to 8-1-0.

After playing at Trinity on Monday, the Foresters will close out the trip at Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island, on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. (EST).
