Lake Forest Drops First Game of Series at Adrian

The Forester men's hockey team fell 6-1 at Adrian College, the nation's sixth-ranked team, Friday night. Lake Forest freshman Michael Violette scored his first career goal.

Adrian started the scoring three minutes and eight seconds into the contest and added a goal with just 23 seconds to play in the opening period.

The Bulldogs netted their third goal five-and-a-half minutes into the second period and scored again while shorthanded at 12:35.

The home team scored its fifth unaswered goal 75 seconds into the third period. Violette then lit the lamp for the Foresters at 5:52. His first career score was assisted by senior Zach Kozak. Adrian tacked on a power play score with 1:01 to play in the contest.

Lake Forest fell to 4-15-1 overall and 4-10-1 in Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association play. Adrian raised its overall record to 16-3-1 and league mark to 13-1-1.

The same two teams will face off again tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 (EST).
