Foresters Complete Sweep of Concordia Wisconsin

The Lake Forest College men's hockey team defeated visiting Concordia University Wisconsin 4-2 Saturday to complete this week's home-and-home sweep of the Falcons. Sophomore Phil Bushbacher scored a pair of second period goals to help secure the victory.

Forester freshman David Milne started the scoring less than three minutes into the game. His first career goal was assisted by classmate Michael Violette, who was making his collegiate debut. Sophomore Zak Borowski doubled the home team's lead at the 14:03 mark on his fifth goal of the season. The power play score was assisted by fellow sophomores Tom Bark and Trent Brown.

Concordia Wisconsin scored its first goal of the game with 5:34 to play in the opening period, which ended the the Foresters ahead 2-1.

Bushbacher's two goals were the only scores in the second period and came at 1:20 and 8:35. Bark earned the assist on the first score, his team-high 10th helper of the season. Senior Jordan Cutler and freshman Chris Gard were each credited with an assist on Bushbacher's second of the night and fifth of 2010-11.

The Falcons netted the only goal of the third period at 8:13.

Lake Forest junior goaltender Marc Stuart stopped 31 of 33 shots on goal in the contest, raising his save percentage on the season to .915.

The Foresters are now 4-11-0 overall and 4-6-0 in Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association play. Concordia fell to 1-15-0 overall and 1-10-0 in the conference.

Lake Forest will play at Northland College next weekend. The teams will face off at 7:00 Friday night and 2:30 the following afternoon.
