Loss at Lawrence is Foresters' First of the Year

The Lake Forest College men's hockey team was defeated 4-1 at Lawrence University Friday night and is now 2-1-0 on the season. Sophomore Zak Borowksi scored the Foresters' only goal of the contest.

Borowski's goal was the first for either team in the game and was scored on the power play at the 8:35 mark of the opening period. Sophomores Trent Brown and Tom Bark assisted on Borowski's third goal of the season.

The Vikings tied the game at the 14:20 mark, pulled ahead at 15:56, and led 2-1 after the first 20 minutes.

The home team out-shot the Foresters 18-8 in the first 20 period and 14-8 in a scoreless second stanza. Both teams put eight shots on the goal in the third.

Lawrence tacked on an insurance goal while shorthanded at 3:05 in the third and added another score at the 6:24 mark.

Forester sophomore goaltender Brendan Sullivan recorded 36 saves in the contest.

The same two teams will face off in Lake Forest tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m.
