Lake Forest Places Sixth at Last Competition of Fall Semester

The Forester men's golf team turned in a pair of solid rounds and placed sixth out of 16 teams at the MSOE Invitational on Sunday and Monday.

The event was held at Grand Geneva Resort in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, with Sunday's opening round being played on The Highlands and Monday's on The Brute.

Freshman Chris Petri tied for the team's best score on Sunday with a four-over round of 75, which included three birdies. He added two more birdies and finished five shots over par with a 77 on Monday. His final score of 152 placed him in a tie for 17th in the 81-player field.

Junior James Johnson was the Foresters' top player in round two with a 76. He carded three birdies in the round and four for the weekend and his 36-hole score of 156 was tied with Lake Forest sophomore Marty Swab for 29th place. Swab matched Petri for team-high honors with five birdies in the tournament.

Sophomore Ryan Higgins tied Petri with a 75 on Sunday and junior Jack Dwyer's 78 on Monday also contributed to the team's scores of 309 and 308, respectively.

The University of Wisconsin-Parkside won the event with a two-day total of 591, four shots better than runner-up Luther College.

It was the final event of the fall for the Foresters, who will begin the 2022 portion of their schedule during the team's spring break trip in March.
