The Lake Forest College men's golf program sent two groups of five to Aurora University's Spartan Double Gun on Tuesday and they finished in the middle of the pack, placing seventh and eighth out of 15 teams.

After tying for eighth out of 88 players over the weekend, Forester junior James Johnson tied for eighth out of 89 on Tuesday. He fired a 3-over 75 on the 6,859-yard course at Glen Erin Golf Club in Janesville, Wisconsin. Johnson birdied the par-4 fifth and par-5 seventh and is averaging just 74 shots during the season's first three rounds.

Sophomore Ryan Higgins and freshman Chris Petri were next on the team with matching rounds of 79 while sophomore Marty Swab carded five birdies while posting an 80. All three players were part of the team that finished seventh overall with a score of 319, nine shots better than the other five Foresters.

The event was supposed to include a pair of 18-hole rounds but the second was canceled due to weather.

Aurora's 292 was the best team score of the tournament by 11 strokes.

The Foresters will compete in the Carthage Fall Invitational this weekend. Play at Randall Oaks Golf Club in West Dundee, Illinois, will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
