Senior Ricky Schmidt tied for sixth place in the field as the Forester men's golf team was sixth at the Wisconsin Lutheran College Fall Invitational over the weekend.

Schmidt carded a career-best score of 72 in Saturday's opening round at the 6,864-yard, par-72 course at Washington County Golf Course in Hartford, Wisconsin. He made four birdies and 11 pars on the day and played the back nine on the course in 2-under. Schmidt added three more birdies in a four-hole span while firing a 76 on Sunday. His 148 for the tournament matched the ninth-best 36-hole total in program history.

Junior Jacob Krugman was next for the Foresters after posting a 76 on Saturday and tying for team-best honors with a 75 on Sunday. Krugman posted pars on 27 of the 36 holes on the weekend and added a birdie on Saturday. He tied for 15th place in the 80-player field.

Freshman Caleb Dzierzynski also finished round two in 75 strokes but needed 82 to finish his round on Sunday. He had back-to-back birdies on holes 13 and 14 and added another on 5 during Sunday's round to move up into a tie for 33rd place.

Sophomore Max Rohwedder and seniors Jordan Mandel and Parker Hill finished the weekend with scores of 161, 162, and 163, respectively. Rohwedder had a 79 on Saturday while Mandel and Hill carded matching 82s. Hill's 81 on Sunday was one shot better than Mandel and two ahead of Rohwedder. Each day's team scores were made up of the top five rounds from each 6-player team so all three contributed to the final outcome.

Edgewood College finished the weekend with a score of 737, 25 strokes ahead of runner-up Carthage College. Concordia University Wisconsin (765), Wisconsin Lutheran (766), and Milwaukee School of Engineering (777) were each slightly better than the Foresters, who posted a sixth-place score of 778.

Lake Forest will travel to Oak Brook Golf Club in Oak Brook, Illinois, for Thursday's Elmhurst College Fall Invitational. The event will begin at 10:00 a.m.
