Jacob Krugman Named MWC Co-Performer of the Week

Lake Forest College golfer Jacob Krugman joined St. Norbert College's Eric Bagg as Midwest Conference Co-Performers of the Week on Tuesday.

Krugman, a sophomore, finished among the top 10 players in three of four events last week, including the Carthage Spring Invitational, where he was the medalist with a season-best score of even-par 70. He had four birdies in his round, including one on the final hole after sticking his approach shot to within four feet. There were 71 golfers in the tournament.

Krugman posted back-to-back rounds of 79 on Friday and Saturday, tying for third out of 48 golfers at Bryant and Stratton College's Bobcat Invitational and 29th out of 72 at the Wisconsin Lutheran Spring Invitational.

Lake Forest's final event of the week was Sunday's Forester Spring Invite and Krugman tied for ninth in the 67-player field with a round of 75. He birdied all four of the par-5s and led all players in the field with six birdies overall.

Krugman will enter this weekend's MWC Championships with the lowest scoring average in the league at 75.4, a full two shots per round better than anyone else in the conference.

MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's sports information directors. Krugman also earned the award on April 4 and three times last year.
