Lake Forest College men's golfer Jacob Krugman was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday after finishing as the runner-up at last weekend's Jim Wetherbee Memorial Invitational.
Krugman, a sophomore, fired a 3-over 75 in Friday's opening round on the 6,551-yard, par-72 course at Soangetaha Country Club in Galesburg, Illinois. He came back with a 76 in the wind on Saturday and finished in a tie for second place just one shot off the lead with a 36-hole score of 151.
Lake Forest placed third at the event with a two-day score of 623, six strokes behind team champion University of Dubuque. The Foresters were fifth in the field and Krugman tied-for-fourth in the individual standings a year ago.
Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Krugman also earned the award once in the fall and twice during his freshman year.
