Lake Forest Ties for 12th at Tim Kopka Memorial Tournament

Senior Davis DeKorte tied for sixth place out of 107 players and the Forester men's golf team was also tied-for-sixth at the two-day Tim Kopka Memorial Tournament over the weekend.

DeKorte carded a career-best round of 72 on Friday and a 74 on Saturday. His 36-hole score of 146 ranks tied-for-second in the program's recorded history.

Forester junior Ricky Schmidt also had a 74 on Saturday to climb into a tie for 48th place overall. Sophomore Jacob Krugman had a 75 on Friday and joined Schmidt with a two-day score of 158. Sophomore Austin Aksoy was next on the team with a 167, which left him tied for 94th place.

Illinois Wesleyan University won the event with a two-day score of 581, two shots better than host Carthage College. Lake Forest's 629 was tied with Millkin University for 12th but just nine points out of seventh place.

The Foresters will continue the fall portion of their schedule next Friday and Saturday at the Midwest Region Fall Classic in Galena, Illinois.
