The Midwest Conference released its 2017 Men's Golf Preseason Coaches Poll on Friday and Lake Forest College was atop the rankings.

Voting is done by the MWC head men's golf coaches. Each coach votes for the other five schools in the league in order of predicted finish. Points are assigned in reverse order of voting (five points for first, four for second, etc.). Coaches may not vote for their own teams.

The Foresters return all six players who tied for second at the 2016 MWC Championship Tournament, including All-MWC performers Davis DeKorte and Parker Hill. The team, in just its third year since the rebirth of the program in 2014, also added freshman Jacob Krugman, the squad's scoring leader in four events in the fall.

Lake Forest will open the spring by taking on Wisconsin Lutheran College at Southern Pines Golf Club (Southern Pines, N.C.) on March 14. The Foresters will also play in six other events, including the Forester Spring Invite, before traveling to Aldeen Golf Club in Rockford, Illinois, for the 2017 MWC Championships May 4-6.
