Lake Forest Earns NABC Team Academic Excellence Award, Five Foresters Named to Honors Court

The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) on Tuesday announced the recipients of the 2021-22 NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards and NABC Honors Court, representing outstanding achievement in the classroom by collegiate men's basketball teams and student-athletes.

Lake Forest was one of more than 300 programs to earn NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards for 2021-22. In addition, among the more than 2,000 players listed on the NABC Honors Court were Forester seniors Sean Espinosa and Kurt Kozarits and juniors Johnny Roeser, Rocco Ronzio, and Frank Siegien.

The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize men's basketball programs that completed the 2021-22 academic year with a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court, meanwhile, includes junior, senior, and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the 2021-22 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.

The NABC's academic awards include honorees from all levels of college basketball.
