The Lake Forest College men's basketball team dropped a 78-55 decision to Concordia University Chicago at home on Saturday.

The Foresters were led in scoring by sophomore wing Johnny Roeser, who finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds for his fourth double-double in seven games this season. Forester freshman forward Val Oplchenski also reached double figures with 10 points on 5-for-6 shooting from the field.

Concordia Chicago shot 50 percent from the field, both overall (30-for-60) and from three-point range (12-for-24). The Foresters were at 39.2 percent overall and committed 19 turnovers to the Cougars' 11. Both teams grabbed 31 rebounds.

Lake Forest never led in the contest and the last tie was at 8-8. The game was close throughout most of the first half, with the visitors leading by just five with seven-and-a-half minutes remaining and by six with four minutes left on the clock. The Cougars, however, scored the final six points of the opening period and took a 40-28 lead into the locker room at halftime.

The Foresters closed to within 10 points early in the second half but got no closer. The margin was 11 before a 20-4 run by Concordia Chicago put the game out of reach.

The Cougars finished the season at 5-11 while Lake Forest fell to 0-7.

The Foresters will host Aurora University in next Tuesday night's season finale. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00.
