The Lake Forest College men's basketball team fell 80-57 to visiting Ripon College on Saturday, one week after the Red Hawks defeated the Foresters in Ripon.

The home team started slow offensively, scoring just 20 points while shooting 24.3 percent from the field in the opening period. Forester freshman Adam Weingard knocked down four three-pointers and accounted for 14 of those first half points. The Red Hawks led 37-20 at the break.

Sophomore forward Frank Siegien matched Weingard with 14 points in the second half. The Foresters shot 50 percent from the field in the final 20 minutes but were unable to get closer than 16 points in the second half.

Forester freshman forward Val Oplchenski also reached double figures in the game with 10. He and sophomore Johnny Roeser shared game-high honors with nine rebounds apiece and Lake Forest had a 46-43 advantage in that category as a team.

The loss dropped the Foresters' record on the season to 0-5 while Ripon improved to 2-0.

Lake Forest will travel to Wisconsin Lutheran College next Tuesday for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off.
