Lake Forest Unable to Keep Up with Ripon

Senior wing Aram Arslanian poured in a career-high 37 points but the Foresters fell 82-70 to visiting Ripon College on Wednesday.

Arslanian shot 16-for-25 from the field and his point total matched the 11th-highest mark in program history. He also recorded four steals on the evening and his 99 career thefts also rank tied-for-11th in team annals.

Freshman forward Victor Novy led the home team with five rebounds and junior guard Sean Espinosa with four assists.

Ripon scored nine of the game's first 11 points and never trailed. The margin grew to as many as 15 points before one of Arslanian's three three-pointers on the evening made the score 39-27 at halftime.

The Foresters trimmed the deficit to eight points twice in the second half but got no closer.

The Red Hawks shot 63.5 percent from the field and had a 34-25 edge in rebounds in the contest.

Lake Forest is now 9-10 overall this season and 6-6 in Midwest Conference play. Ripon improved to 13-7 overall and 9-4 in the league.

The Foresters will travel to Beloit College on Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. tip-off.
